Royal Wedding Watch Party

Set your DVRs and get your tissues and tiaras: the Royal Wedding is on Saturday, May 19th!  Here at The Clubhouse at Peacock Gap we love weddings, we love tradition and we love LOVE.

Here are a few tips for throwing a “watch party” -
Television coverage begins at 4 a.m. (thus the suggestion to set your DVR!), so get yourself a tin of the traditional Royal Wedding Tea (from Haney and Sons) and make a strong pot, then get comfortable (pajamas and tiaras are a great look!).  Nibble on scones, strawberries with clotted cream and finger sandwiches as you watch the spectacle.  Here are some fun ideas for English nibbles on Good Housekeeping. If you happen to be a cord-cutter, Twitter has a live coverage feed and SlingTV has BBC America – which will be showing the full ceremony- and you can sign up for a 7-day free trial!

Have some fun before you watch and see the wedding traditions the Royal family observes. Bonus points if you can spot some of these during the spectacle. And if you don’t follow the Royal Family closely, catch up on the royal wedding details and get ready to swoon!

Lastly, be sure you have a glass of champagne handy so you can toast the newlyweds, the pomp and circumstance and of course all the love.
